‘How to Find a Great Edinburgh Fringe Show’. (Pauline McLean)

Lovingly brought to life using everything from puppets and wheel trims to suitcases and torches. Not to mention a live jazz band on stage throughout. Delivered with a real joie de vivre, it turned out to be one of the gems of my festival.
Beautifully choreographed with innovation and energy by an incredibly dedicated ensemble cast… FellSwoop will be a company to watch out for in the future. It is succinct, confidently executed and gives the audience that delightful annoyance of wanting more when it’s over.
This stage adaptation of Sylvain Chomet’s Oscar-nominated animated film uses an dazzling array of theatrical tricks to deliver a charming and memorable Fringe experience.
Inventively staged, cunningly choreographed and brilliantly scored, this production dazzles with its wit and imagination.. You’ll never look at bike wheels in the same way again.
Physical theatre at its finest. Bicycle wheels trembled into frighteningly stormy seas whilst people became planes, planets and puppies. It was the creativity behind every image that produced such a thrill, the company fashioned a world where anything was possible and there was no telling what would happen next. If you’re interested in devised theatre, come and see how it’s done properly here at the Belleville.
Belleville Rendez-vous has a junkyard vaudeville tone, with live music provided by a trio of accomplished performers to the side of the stage as the face-painted actors play out the tale. Expressive and comic, their performances are uniformly charming, taking the modern fable of the original and using their impressive skills to bring it to life.
FellSwoop Theatre emerged from the dusty bowels of Warwick University, and thank
Henry they did (no good thing should remain trapped in a bowel). The company put me in mind of Kneehigh and 1927 – companies that lead the field when it comes to embracive, musical, multimedia storytelling.
Fellswoop Theatre crafts an entire world out of oddities and junk. This gives the piece a homespun, scruffy aesthetic that allows the company’s creativity to flourish through skilful use of puppetry and mime..It is a delightful display of imagination, which brings alive a beautifully told story.
FellSwoop Theatre have masterminded this heart-warming adaptation… and transport the audience to a world in which the only limit is imagination.
